Participation in surveys via easyfeedback is generally anonymous. In many cases, however, personalization or partial personalization is required in order to be able to assign the results to a person or group of persons.
With easyfeedback you have 5 options to personalize the participation and thus the results.
1. Ask for personal data within the survey
One of the easiest ways to personalize participation is to ask for personal data. To do this, simply ask the desired question in the survey for name, email address or similar. You can see the obtained answers in the results of the survey.
If you export the results (CSV, XLS or SPSS), you will get the data about the participant’s other answers and you will be able to personalize the participation.
Advantage
- Individual personalization possible: name, email, participant group (e.g. department, customer group), etc.
- Simple implementation
- Transparent design of personalization
- Filtering and segmentation based on responses possible
Disadvantage
- Questionnaire is extended by those questions concerning personal data
- Incorrect answers are possible
- If the question in the questionnaire is not classified as a mandatory question (to be found in the settings of the question type), information can be omitted
2. Store personal data in the list of participants
The second option is to personalize the participation in a survey via the email invitations. If you use the email invitation tool, you need a participant list for this. In the participant list, you can store additional individual data for each participant in order to personalize participation.
The stored information is available for filtering in the evaluation and is output again when exporting the results (CSV, XLS or SPSS).
Advantage
- Individual personalization possible: name, email, participant group (e.g. department, customer group), etc.
- Individual and extensive information possible
- Filtering and segmentation based on responses possible
- Questionnaire does not extend
- No false answers possible
Disadvantage
- No transparency – participant does not notice the personalization
- Invitations must be sent via easyfeedback
3. Set parameters and variables to survey link
The third option is to add parameters and variables to the survey link. This method is especially useful if you want to link the survey to your CRM system or another external tool.
The added information will be saved to the participation and will be available again when filtering the results and in the export (CSV, XLS or SPSS).
Advantage
- Individual personalization possible: name, email, participant group (e.g. department, customer group), etc.
- Individual and extensive information possible
- Filtering and segmentation based on responses possible
- Questionnaire does not extend
- No false answers possible
- Invitations can be made via an external tool or by email
Disadvantage
- Participants might notice the personalization if it is not done cryptically
4. Personalize access codes
Independent personalization of manually generated access codes is the fourth way of personalization. In this method, you activate the access codes for participation, generate the required number of access codes and export them (XLS). Then you create the personalization independently by remembering to which participant you gave which access code.
When exporting the results (CSV, XLS or SPSS) the access codes are available again. The personalization can then take place via a comparison.
Advantage
- Questionnaire does not extend
- No false answers possible
- Invitations can be made via an external tool or by email
Disadvantage
- No transparency – participant does not notice the personalization
- No filtering and segmentation based on responses possible
- Increased manual effort
5. Create additional links for each group
The fifth and last option of personalization can be done by creating additional links. In this variant, you create as many additional links as you need for personalization in the Invite participants section. Then you send one of the additional links to each group of participants. This method is more suitable for personalization at the group level.
Within the results, each additional link is available to you as a separate visitor source and can be evaluated individually. In addition, the visitor source is displayed when exporting the results (XLS, CSV or SPSS).
Advantage
- Questionnaire does not extend
- No false answers possible
- Invitations can be made via an external tool or by email
- Simple method for segmenting groups
- Filtering and segmentation possible based on the additional links
Disadvantage
- No transparency – participant does not notice the personalization
