How can I personalize the participation in the survey?

1. ask for personal data within the survey

One of the easiest ways to personalize a participation is to ask for personal data. To do this, simply ask the desired question in the survey, e.g. for the name or e-mail address, and you will receive the desired information in the results.

When exporting the results (CSV, XLS or SPSS), you then receive the requested data on the participant’s further answers and can thus personalize the participation.

Advantage

  • Individual and free personalization possible: name, e-mail, participant group (e.g. department or customer group), etc.
  • Simple implementation
  • Transparent design of the personalization
  • Filtering/segmentation based on the response possible

Disadvantage

  • Survey is, to the part of personalization, “longer
  • False statements are possible
  • Information is not provided if the question is not a mandatory question

2. store personal data in the participant list

As a second option, you can personalize your participation in a survey via the e-mail invitations. If you use the e-mail invitation tool, you will need a list of participants. And in the participant list you can enter additional individual details for each participant to personalize their participation.

The stored information is available for filtering in the evaluation and is output again in the export of the results (CSV, XLS). In this way, participation can be personalized.

Advantage

  • Individual and free personalization possible: name, e-mail, participant group (e.g. department or customer group), etc.
  • Individual and extensive information possible
  • Filtering/segmentation based on the response possible
  • Questionnaire will not be extended
  • No false statements possible

Disadvantage

  • No transparent presentation – participants do not “notice” the personalization
  • Invitations must be made via easyfeedback

3. set parameters & variables at the survey link

As a third possibility you can add variables & parameters to the survey link. This method is especially useful if you want to connect the survey to your CRM system or an external tool.

With this method, the survey link is supplemented by individual variables & parameters. The “attached” information is saved for the participation and is available again for filtering the results and in export (CSV, XLS).

  • Individual and extensive information per participant possible
  • Filtering/segmentation based on the response possible
  • Questionnaire will not be extended
  • No false statements possible
  • Invitations can be sent via an external tool or e-mail

4. personalize access codes

As a fourth personalization option, you can independently personalize the manually created access codes. With this method, you activate the access codes for participation, generate the required number of access codes, export them (XLS) and then create a personalization yourself by remembering who you give which access code to.

In the result export (CSV, XLS) the access codes are available again and the personalization can then take place via a comparison.

Advantage

  • Questionnaire will not be extended
  • No false statements possible
  • Invitations can be sent via an external tool or e-mail

Disadvantage

  • No transparent presentation – participants do not “notice” the personalization
  • No filtering/segmentation based on the answer possible
  • Increased manual effort

Create additional links per group

The fifth way of personalization can be done by creating additional links. With this option, you would create as many additional links in the Invite Participants section as you need for personalization and then send each group of participants one of the additional links. This method is more suitable for partial personalization at group level.

Within the results, each additional link is available as a separate visitor source and can be evaluated individually. In addition, the visitor source is displayed again in the export of the results (XLS, CSV).

Advantage

  • Questionnaire will not be extended
  • No false statements possible
  • Invitations can be sent via an external tool or easyfeedback
  • Simple way to segment groups
  • Filtering/segmentation based on the additional links possible

Disadvantage

  • No transparent presentation – participants do not “notice” the personalization
