For every company, whether small or large, it takes a lot of time and effort to create meaningful references for employees who are leaving the company. Because job references must meet certain requirements, correspond to the truth and be formulated benevolently. Otherwise, legal disputes can quickly arise.
In addition, the preparation of references becomes a challenge when it is not the responsibility of the managers, but of the HR department. This usually makes it more protracted and complicates the task.
This is because HR departments often do not know the departing employee and cannot assess how his or her behavior and work performance were during his or her period of employment. Accordingly, they must first obtain the information from the respective manager.
